Ohio
Empowerment Coalition teamed up with Advocates for Budget Equality
(ABLE) to hold a Statehouse Rally/Legislative Day at Statehouse on
April 23, 2009. The rally included
speakers on kinship care, health care, and a push for a stronger
economic safety net for Ohioans. Rally
speakers urged state legislators to save programs that help low-income
people in our state, programs especially needed when many are
unemployed and financially devastated by the recession. We
continue to urge Ohio policymakers to raise revenue to balance the
State Budget rather than cut vital services to the poor.
It

no to balancing the budget on the backs of the poor!!! Raise the Revenue
